Solder Lugs

Solder Lugs - Standard Style

Definition:
Standard style solder lugs are designed to provide an excellent electrical connection by soldering a wire directly onto the solder lug. Multiple wires can be soldered to one lug. Some standard style solder lugs can also be soldered onto the connecting surface. Certain standard styles are available in both flat and formed configurations.

Standard Solder Lugs are available in the following materials and finishes:

  • Brass: Cadmium types I & II, Chrome, Bright Nickel, Silver, Bright Tin, Hot Tin Dip, and Zinc types I & II

Solder Lug - Locking Tooth Style

Definition:
Locking tooth style solder lugs are designed with internal locking teeth to provide both improved electrical connection, and to prevent the attaching screw from loosening and interrupting the electrical connection. Similar to the standard style solder lug, wires are soldered directly onto the solder lug. Multiple wires can be soldered to one lug. Certain locking tooth styles are available in both flat and formed configurations.

Locking Tooth Solder Lugs are available in the following materials and finishes:

  • Brass: Cadmium types I & II, Chrome, Bright Nickel, Silver, Bright Tin, Hot Tin Dip, and Zinc types I & II

Solder Lug - Crimp-On Style

Definition:
Crimp-on style solder lugs are designed to eliminate the need for the soldering of the wires to the lug. The solder lug is crimped onto the wire to hold the wire in place and give the electrical connection. This lowers the labor cost per connection and still provides a good electrical connection.

Crimp-On Solder Lugs are available in the following materials and finishes:

  • Brass: Cadmium types I & II, Chrome, Bright Nickel, Silver, Bright Tin, Hot Tin Dip, and Zinc types I & II
