Mechanical Engineer



Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Diagnosis and resolving manufacturing problems on an engineering level.
  • Participate in all aspect of the quoting process and initiate new work, including the generation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation (routings, travelers, and B.O.M.’s).
  • Customer Service Support, answering technical questions on an engineering level.
  • Work with and develop a network based engineering file management system.
  • Work with, specifying and troubleshooting existing manufacturing systems. Includes all press and manufacturing support equipment.
  • Develop, maintain, and report timelines on engineering projects
  • Work independently to identify and correct deficient manufacturing processes, also document and report on process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Create Bills of Material and Routings for tools and work orders.
  • Assist in developing work centers.
  • Analyze process flow, make recommendations for improvements.
  • Must be able to work within deadlines.
  • Demonstrate ability to make sound judgments.
  • Show attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Miscellaneous projects.
  • Willing to work overtime when needed.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. The applicant must also be able to perform advanced mathematics quickly and accurately, be able to read, understand, and interpret advanced engineering drawings, and be computer and CAD literate, using both PC and mainframe systems for information retrieval and analysis.
Language Skills
  • The ability to read, write and speak the English language with comprehension skills sufficient to understand safety standards and job performance expectations.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • If driving is a part of this job we need to include copy of drivers license and liability insurance required.
Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is subject to inside environmental conditions and regularly exposed to loud noise. The employee may also have air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids. The employee will on occasion be exposed to moving mechanical parts in a high noise level environment.
  • The noise level in the environment is moderate.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; use hands to feel, handle, or grab; reach, pull, push, and lift with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch and reach. Some sitting may be required. The employee is frequently required to lift 45 pounds, occasionally required to lift and/or move 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to wear steel-toe shoes/boots.
